Educational Opportunity Program (EOP)

The Arthur O. Eve Educational Opportunity Program (EOP) is a state-funded initiative of the State University of New York system. The program is designed to make college possible for talented students who have limited financial resources and are academically underprepared to attend a SUNY college, earn a degree, and achieve their life goals.

Students applying for the program must meet academic and financial eligibility requirements. Students must qualify as economically disadvantaged according to income guidelines established by the New York State Education Department.

Transfer and returning students who were enrolled in a similar postsecondary opportunity program, such as EOP, HEOP, SEEK, or College Discovery, at their previous institutions may be eligible for EOP at Finger Lakes Community College.

Students selected to participate in the Educational Opportunity Program receive a variety of support services, including personal academic counseling, one-on-one tutoring, modest financial support to help alleviate non-tuition costs such as books and supplies, and a summer program designed to help first-time incoming students transition to college.
