Center for Academic Advising and Transfer Services

The Center for Academic Advising and Transfer Services (CAATS) provides a holistic approach to empowering students to discover and achieve their academic, transfer, and career goals. Specific services include the following:

Academic Advisement

Academic Advisement services are available to all students at Finger Lakes Community College. Full- and part-time matriculated students are assigned a faculty academic advisor and a professional academic advisor who assist them with course selection, academic planning, goal setting, and questions related to their program of study.

If a student is a member of a specialized program or cohort, such as EOP, Athletics, Campus Centers, Academic Probation, or any other population and/or program as determined by the College, they may have additional staff and/or faculty members providing support.

Matriculated students are required to meet with one of their assigned academic advisors prior to course registration each semester. Students who wish to change their degree program are encouraged to meet with a staff member in the Center for Academic Advising and Transfer Services to review degree requirements.

Transfer Services

The Center for Academic Advising and Transfer Services offers students comprehensive resources and advising to investigate transfer options and identify four-year institutions that may suit their educational goals. The Transfer Services website, www.flcc.edu/transfer, provides numerous resources to support transfer planning. Students interested in transferring to a four-year college are encouraged to work with Transfer Services early in their time at FLCC.
