THE-106 Children's Theatre Tour

Children’s Theatre Tour gives students experience in workshopping, rehearsing, and performing for live audiences. Students prepare a one-act play for presentation in the local primary and elementary schools. The one-act play will be built, rehearsed and toured by the members of the class during the semester. This course is open to all students and can be repeated more than once.

Course Learning Outcomes

  1. Participate in applied learning by rehearsing and performing as part of an ensemble cast adhering to strict attendance policies. Students gain real world production experience, developing self-awareness and improved confidence.
  2. Apply the techniques of children's theatre production while performing for and interacting with young audiences.
  3. Adapt to various performing spaces and audiences in a touring situation.
  4. Demonstrate professionalism and decorum while interacting with management, clientele and the public during all aspects of the tour.
  5. Evaluate the quality of their work and that of their peers.
