THE-103 Acting II: Scene Study
This is a performance course introducing scene work from a variety to dramatic styles. Concepts taught include script analysis, creative work habits, ensemble development, rehearsal skills, and playing physical actions.
Course Learning Outcomes
- Play physical actions in performance.
- Demonstrate an understanding of style through rehearsal and performance of classical and contemporary texts.
- Apply feedback and criticism from previous performances toward improving and refining skill and techniques in subsequent performances.
- Maintain a detailed journal of the theatrical process.
- Conduct a group warm-up containing vocal, physical and mental exercises.
- Analyze scripts for given circumstances, objectives, actions, obstacles, tactics, and character relationships; apply that analysis to the creation of performance.
