THE-103 Acting II: Scene Study

This is a performance course introducing scene work from a variety to dramatic styles. Concepts taught include script analysis, creative work habits, ensemble development, rehearsal skills, and playing physical actions.

Course Learning Outcomes

  1. Play physical actions in performance.
  2. Demonstrate an understanding of style through rehearsal and performance of classical and contemporary texts.
  3. Apply feedback and criticism from previous performances toward improving and refining skill and techniques in subsequent performances.
  4. Maintain a detailed journal of the theatrical process.
  5. Conduct a group warm-up containing vocal, physical and mental exercises.
  6. Analyze scripts for given circumstances, objectives, actions, obstacles, tactics, and character relationships; apply that analysis to the creation of performance.
