Gemini Program: Concurrent Enrollment
Finger Lakes Community College partners with school districts in the Finger Lakes region to provide dual enrollment. Eligible high school students enrolled in public schools in Ontario, Wayne, Seneca, and Yates Counties have the opportunity to earn college credit and high school credit simultaneously. Qualified high school instructors are approved by Finger Lakes Community College Faculty to deliver the college course in their school. Approximately 50 FLCC courses are offered through the Gemini program.
Dual enrollment provides college access, alleviates high stakes testing such as AP and IB, and saves money. Gemini students are part-time non-matriculated Finger Lakes Community College students with library access and other student privileges. Upon high school graduation, Gemini students may apply for admission to FLCC and use their Gemini courses toward an FLCC degree program, or they may transfer their college credits to another institution*.
Eligible high school students who meet FLCC prerequisites must enroll in FLCC Gemini courses during published registration periods. After registration, a student fee of $7.00 per credit hour will be due. Students whose household income meets the criteria for free/reduced meals are eligible for a Gemini fee waiver. Students who register for the FLCC Gemini course will earn a letter grade on their official FLCC transcript.
*Note: It is the prerogative of a receiving institution to determine whether to accept transfer credit from FLCC. Most Gemini courses meet SUNY General Education Requirements for Transfer. Gemini students must order their official FLCC transcript and have it sent to the receiving institution for their evaluation and determination.
