EMCR-205 Emergency Medical Technician- Refresher

The content reviews the concepts and materials covered in the EMT Original course such as preparing the EMT student to provide pre-hospital assessment and care for patients of all ages with a variety of medical conditions and traumatic injuries. Areas of study include an introduction to emergency medical services systems, roles and responsibilities of EMTs, anatomy, and physiology, medical emergencies, trauma, special considerations for working in the pre-hospital setting, and providing patient transportation. This course is designed for individuals who have been certified by NYS Department of Health as EMTs for the purpose of maintaining their competency in providing emergency medical care. Recertification is required every three (3) years. After successful completion of this course students are eligible to take the NYS certification exam.
