Emergency Medical Technician - Paramedic

Curriculum Requirements
Before entering this program, you should already be certified as a New York State Emergency Medical Technician at the basic level. This degree program builds on the courses offered in FLCC's EMT certificate program and offers broadened knowledge of the field in paramedicine.
As a student in this program, you are required to complete a minimum of 64 credit hours with a grade point average of no lower than C (2.0). For this degree program, you must successfully complete the following:

Program Learning Outcomes
Upon completion of this degree program, students will be able to:
- Demonstrate general medical knowledge expected of an entry level paramedic in order to function in a healthcare setting.
- Demonstrate the ability to thoroughly assess a patient utilizing various diagnostic tools and assessment techniques, and then perform a broad
range of clinical skills and procedures based on the assessment findings.
- Demonstrate the ability to communicate and interact effectively with non‐clinical and clinical persons in various healthcare and scene
environments.
- Develop contextual, integrative, and adaptive competence of a professional entry‐level paramedic.
