ENG-227 Writing for Literary Podcasts

In this applied learning course students will write, edit and create podcast content associated with the FLCC literary journal. Students with creative writing, communication, digital media, or visual art backgrounds will benefit from building skills required in podcasting, such as content generation, scripting, interviewing and revising content. The course will particularly attend to the writing and revision skills necessary to support a literary journal. This course carries SUNY General Education The Arts credit.

Course Learning Outcomes

  1. Apply basics in using recording equipment, recording audio files, and editing with audio editing software.
  2. Explicate a variety of digital and text-based media in a manner demonstrating understanding of the rhetorical situation of individual publications.
  3. Apply interview skills in order to collaboratively create audio and text content appropriate for use in the FLCC literary journal.
  4. Integrate feedback from classmates and professor through workshops, conferences, and written comments when revising scripts and podcast projects.
