EMCR-230 Advanced Standing Paramedic Original

This accelerated Advanced Standing Paramedic Program is designed for licensed Registered Nurses (RNs), Physician Assistants (PAs), and Medical Doctors (MDs) seeking to obtain paramedic certification while leveraging their existing clinical training and experience. Tailored for advanced healthcare professionals, this intensive program bridges the knowledge and scope-of-practice gap between traditional in-hospital roles and out-of-hospital emergency care.

Through a dynamic blend of didactic instruction, high-fidelity simulation, scenario-based learning, and supervised field internships, students will develop the competencies required to function as autonomous prehospital providers in diverse environments. Emphasis is placed on advanced airway management, pharmacology, cardiac and trauma life support, EMS operations, and critical decision-making in austere settings.

Upon successful completion, graduates will be eligible to sit for the New York State and/or National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians (NREMT) Paramedic certification exam and will be prepared to practice at the paramedic level in accordance with state and national EMS standards.
