CJC-225 Police Community Relations
This course explores the role of the police in, and their relations with, the communities they serve. Emphasis will be placed on community policing, professionalism, and accountability of the individual officer and police departments and institutions promoting a meaningful police image.
Course Learning Outcomes
- Explain the nature of policing in America as it relates to officer/public perceptions.
- Analyze and distinguish the common causes of civilian complaints against the police.
- Evaluate systems used for complaint processing and the resolution of complaints.
- Define and recognize the complexities of providing quality police services in a free society.
