NUR-265 Transcultural Considerations in Healthcare
This course is designed for healthcare providers and nursing students who are interested in examining several different cultures in regards to heritage, family, education, occupation, communication, family roles, work force issues and spirituality. Responses to health, illness and death will also be explored.
Outcomes
- Identify own cultural beliefs, traditions, practices and responses to health, illness, and wellness
- Identify basic differences between a variety of cultural groups as related to healthcare and health practices
- Determine cultural influences as they relate to healthcare practices
- Identify spiritual needs of various cultures
