Direct Support Professional (DSP) is a high-demand field, offering long-term career opportunities across New York State. DSP career pathways include roles in community agencies and in state employment supporting people with disabilities. As a DSP, you assist people in developing daily living skills and habits. In this program, FLCC offers Microcredentials for the DSP I and DSP II allowing you to earn the certifications to advance in this field. You may also earn up to 12 credits toward completing our Human Services AS program.
The National Alliance for Direct Support Professionals (NADSP) manages the certification process for DSPs through an e-badge system with three levels: DSP-I, DSP-II, DSP-III, & Front line Supervisor.
