Child Care Center
The FLCC Child Care Center offers students an on-campus childcare program licensed by the New York State Office of Children and Family Services. The Child Care Center provides developmentally appropriate activities and curriculum in a safe, fun, and nurturing environment. The Center accepts children 18 months to 5 years of age. Childcare services are available throughout the year, Monday through Friday, from 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
The Child Care Center encourages children to be curious, comfortable with themselves, friendly with others, independent, and self-confident. The Center helps children develop awareness of the world around them and supports their growth through child-specific activities and experiences that recognize each child as both an individual and a member of a group.
Children regularly participate in seasonal activities and special events, including walking trips on campus, birthday celebrations, and college-sponsored events. The Center’s campus location provides children with access to professionals who share their knowledge of health and nursing, environmental conservation and preservation, food service, library science, the arts, and other areas.
Affordable rates are available, and childcare subsidies may be available to qualifying families, including a Federal Block Grant for college students. The Child Care Block Grant Subsidy is a federal program administered by the Department of Social Services that pays up to 95% of childcare tuition for income-eligible families.
