THE-215 Scene Shop Practicum

Students will receive credit for working on the construction of scenic elements and providing other pre-production support for current productions. The course is open to all students and can be taken more than once. Course graded as satisfactory/unsatisfactory.

Course Learning Outcomes

  1. Apply carpentry and scene painting skills by working a minimum of 30 hours over the course of the semester. Work assignments may also include working in the costume shop, participating in hanging and focusing of stage lighting, and/or audio set-up.
  2. Develop and maintain a consistent weekly schedule with the shop foreman.
  3. Assist with load-in and strike for productions.
