PN-104 Practical Nursing 4
This course focuses on concepts and desired outcomes related to beginning management principles and continued care of patients with acute/chronic health problems of increasing severity. The student will expand the professional nursing role through increased proficiency in clinical judgment, teamwork and inter-professional collaboration, and interventions to provide safe patient-centered care.
Course Learning Outcomes
- Utilize knowledge of pathophysiology and pharmacology to apply proficient clinical judgment skills and provide evidence-based care to individuals experiencing acute/chronic health problems across the lifespan.
- Perform psychomotor skills requiring increasing clinical judgment that follow professional nursing standards.
- Prioritize safe, patient-centered care to individuals with acute/chronic health problems in a variety of healthcare settings.
- Demonstrate professional nursing behaviors within established legal and ethical guidelines.
- Collaborate proficiently with patients, families, and members of the interprofessional team to provide safe, patient-centered care.
- Describe contemporary nursing issues affecting the delivery of safe, patient-centered, quality healthcare.
- Develop a personal plan outlining a strategy that prepares the student for success on the National Council Licensure Examination for Practical Nursing.
