EDU-210 Schools in America: Organization and Issues
The course focuses on the dynamics of the school setting and on the interaction between and among students, teachers, administrators, families and others in the community. Topics covered in this course include: diversity, current issues, curriculum, and school structures. This course includes thirty hours of guided observation field experience in the K-12 school setting.
Course Learning Outcomes
- 1. Appraise the concept of full inclusion in order to defend the positions of various stakeholders.
- 2. Design a lesson plan based on the essential elements of instruction.
- 3. Synthesize their knowledge of school structures, organizational systems, and school administration to create an original model of education.
- 4. Apply a multidisciplinary approach to solving problems as they relate to current issues in education.
