CJC-120 Introduction to Corrections
Development of corrections; the correctional client in local, state and federal correctional facilities; the effects of criminal justice reform; and court decisions implementing due process and civil rights for correctional clients.
Course Learning Outcomes
- Describe the major stages of the corrections process (e.g. law enforcement, courts, and corrections)
- Evaluate legal and ethical issues in corrections
- Identify and demonstrate an understanding of the role of corrections in the community
- Practice communication skills appropriate to the field of corrections including writing, group projects, and oral presentations on topics of interest within the discipline.
